QLD on stage Media Famil

On the 23rd January 6 German, Dutch and Swiss media representatives visited Lady Elliot as part of the giant Tourism Queensland 'Qld on Stage' international media famil.

The program was designed to showcase Queensland product and generate press coverage in these important markets.

The group was hosted by the TQ Manager for Germany, Kai Ostermann. This was Kai"s second trip to the Lady Elliot and he was very impressed with the changes which have occurred over recent years, stating "…what a huge difference people make, the staff here make the experience so enjoyable”.

The group were lucky enough to witness both nesting and hatching turtles on the beaches around the island, while several of the group took the opportunity to dive the Coral Gardens on the western side. Menno Janssen, a freelance Journalist based in Holland, took the time to write back after experiencing the diving off cairns “I' ve just been with the trip diving at about one and a half hour sailing outside of Cairns and it was completely different. You and your crew do an awful good job on care and attention to the clients. There is no doubt that yours will be the most favorable in my stories.”

The group spent three weeks visiting product around QLD and no doubt left with a wealth of stories to promote the state in Europe.
