Lady Elliot Island is my most favourite place in the world.

My name is Vella, I am eight years old, I live in Sydney, I have been going to Lady Elliot Island since I was three years old.

We try to go two or three times a year, I always have a great time, I love to snorkel. I have seen a family of Whales, Dolphins, Manta Rays, Sharks and get to pat turtles on their shells on just about every snorkel.
 
I heard Whales under the water, it sounds like they are next to me.  I like the smell of salt water from our room and love to feel the sand flow-through my toes.
 
Last January I helped Goldie and Ranger John release baby turtles just about every night, it was fantastic, Wayne the manager called Goldie Turtle Queen and called me Turtle Princess. I saw mother turtles lay eggs too.
 
I bought a Turtle soft toy from the gift shop in October last year, I call him Squirt, he goes everywhere with me, even to school.

I will be at Lady Elliot Island again next October school holidays and the school holidays in January 2010. Lady Elliot Island is the best place in the world.
