We mentioned the SOURCE Hydropanels manufactured by Zero Mass Water in our last newsletter. The Hydropanels have been featured in the latest episode of REEF TODAY along with our Maintenance guru Laurie and Managing Director Peter Gash.
The project received funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) as part of ARENA’s Advancing Renewables Program.

REVEGETATION ON LADY ELLIOT ISLAND

REEF TODAY have also created a video highlighting the amazing work being done by Peter Gash, Jim Buck and the LEIER team to restore the island to it's former glory post guano mining in the 1800's.

MANTA MADNESS!!! 

We have been having some phenomenal manta ray encounters over the past few weeks and our staff were lucky enough to capture some of the action. Jacinta from the Bar captured this amazing footage of a Manta Train and Remi from our Activities team captured incredible drone footage of manta rays mating, check out the video on Facebook and you can clearly see how the male bites onto the left pectoral fin of the female while they mate belly to belly. According to Project Manta - The manta rays of Australia "We often see them engaged in courtship behaviour, but sightings of the deed itself are very uncommon!"
