Welcome back to Lady Elliot Island! No images? Click here With just under 5 days until we re-open, we're excited to welcome you back to the Southern Great Barrier Reef! As most of you know, the resort has been closed since the 26 March during the global covid-19 crisis. If you've been following our social media, you would know that we haven't been sitting on our hands! This time has been full of great reflection and appreciation for the people around us. We have an incredible team here on Lady Elliot Island and it is this team that has kept the resort ticking over the past few months. We are extremely grateful for the support, friendship and kindness we have received from our friends, family, guests and followers. It has been an incredibly difficult time for all and we are so thankful. We have been using this down time to complete a number of jobs and projects on the Island that can be difficult to get to. From smaller tasks like painting, sanding and deep cleaning to larger projects including renovating the Gift Shop/Reception area, renovations of Reef Units 7-9 with Reef Units 10-12 following behind shortly, upgrades of the Dining Room roof and Eastern deck and new vinyl floor in our kitchen. We are extremely excited to welcome you back to show you all these upgrades! If you are an upcoming guest a detailed email will be sent to you 7 days prior to your arrival explaining the changes around social distancing, resort operations and our COVIDSafe Plan. Otherwise information on important COVID-19 measures are also available on our website here. Now is the perfect time to visit with the Humpback Whales starting their migration and peak Manta Ray season is in full swing! Please remember when you travel to Lady Elliot Island that we are doing everything we can to adapt to this changing world and making sure that you still have a once in a life time Great Barrier Reef Experience. We are looking forward to having you back but please be kind, compassionate and have patience with our team as we navigate our way through these changes. Experience one of the most pristine and untouched sections of the Great Barrier Reef, with over 1,200 different species of marine life and exceptionally clear water (average visibility 30 meters).
